Tier List Hub

This Tier List Hub ranks what matters in Build a Medieval Army (Medieval War Tycoon by ZedCo): the soldiers you field and the Robux gamepasses that change your curve. Use it when you are about to spend a large cash spike, prestige into exclusives, or open your wallet for Double Income and specialty troops.

Tier lists here are role-aware. An S-tier hill holder is not automatically the best stealth flag thief. Read the criteria on each child page before you rebuild your entire yard around one name.

Lists in this hub

  • Troops Tier List — unit roles for offense, defense, and prestige-era armies.
  • Gamepasses Tier List — Double Income, Double XP, Heavy Soldier, Assassin Soldier, Heal Spell, Berzerker Giant, Sky Fort, Archer Squad (+4), Troop BUFF, Roman Legion, Giant ZED, Cloned Troops, Spartan Soldier, Catapult Troop, and how to prioritize them.

How we rank

Impact on the real loop. The game pays you for returning stolen flags, surviving defense, and holding the hilltop for +20% income. Units and passes that improve those outcomes climb. Pure cosmetics do not.

Cost efficiency. Early ranks favor options that work before you are rich. Prestige exclusives are judged after you can actually unlock them—see How to Prestige and Prestige Units.

Lobby dependency. Some picks shine in sweaty servers; others dominate casual maps. We call that out so you do not copy a YouTube army into the wrong lobby.

Synergy with multipliers. Premium’s +10% cash, hill control, codes from the Codes Hub, and Double Income change how fast “expensive” becomes “normal.”

How to use tiers without inting

  1. Identify your bottleneck: income, defense, or prestige unlock speed.
  2. Open the matching list and read the role notes—not only the letter grade.
  3. Cross-check roster details on the Units Hub and roster page.
  4. Confirm you still follow basics from How to Play, Early Game Income, How to Capture Flags, and How to Defend Your Base.
  5. Estimate timelines with the Income Prestige Planner before buying economy passes “to prestige faster.”

What tiers are not

They are not permission to ignore the hill, skip the ZedCo group Praetorian, or leave your base empty. They are not a substitute for redeeming active codes (big2xmascash, casher72, pres1234, and others when live). They are not a reason to install risky scripts—see Scripts Hub for ban-risk context.

Keeping ranks honest

After ZedCo patches, revisit this hub and the Updates Hub. When a unit is nerfed or a new prestige exclusive arrives, role tiers shift. Our Review explains whether the overall experience still rewards the same skills.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Build a Medieval Army players.

Which tier list should I read first?

Read Troops if you are spending in-game cash on army composition. Read Gamepasses before any Robux purchase.

Are S-tier units always worth buying first?

Not always. Early game needs affordable volume and defense. Some S-tier picks assume you already have income and hill control.

Do prestige units appear in the troop list?

Yes, with notes that they require prestige progression. See also the Prestige Units page under Units.

Will Double Income always be top tier?

It is usually excellent for grinders, but players who cannot hold flags or the hill still waste the multiplier. Skill first, then multiply.

How often do tiers change?

After meaningful balance or prestige updates. Check Updates Hub when something feels off compared to these ranks.
